I am losing my mind." Your are not losing your mind. Losing your mind means being crazy(丧失理智,发疯)." "Out?" "Sleeping?" She is totally out, I mean she was sleeping that she didn't know I was there." Is there any Green Card? I need you to help me up." 原来,help me up这词组是当一个人摔倒的时候,需要别人拉他一把时才用的. help me out是请人帮忙的时候说的.help me out跟help me其实是一样的. Let me make a toast to the class" 我很好奇问旁边的同学,"怎么没有见到吐司",那位美国同学解释道,老师说的"make a toast"是美国俚语,意思是祝愿同学们. Ok, John that's enough. It's time we started talking turkey." 我结结巴巴地开口道"well, thank you . But I don't think now we should eat turkey,it's not Thanksgiving yet......." J: Do you want the pitcher? Do you want the pitcher?" 岂不是出洋相.pitcher 'pit∫э(r); `pit∫э n (a) (esp Brit) large (usu earthenware) container liquids, with one or two handles and a lip pouring (单柄或双柄, 带嘴的, 通常为陶制的)大罐, 大壶. (b) (US) jug 罐.J18: Did you burn the midnight oil? Did you burn the midnight oil last night?" Why should I burn oil? It is dangerous and against dorm regulation. I have the table-light(lamp)"(为何我要烧油,这样既危险又违反学校的规定,我有桌灯). 教授解释道"(burn midnight oil) is an idiom, means staying up late to go over the lessons"(即熬夜苦读)J19: Burned herself out [筋疲力尽]拥有自己的房子是一件快乐的事,是实现美国梦的一部份,但是买房子的整体过程却非常折磨人,弄得人疲惫不堪,大伤元气. 他说"No, this is unisex."

The Beauty of NatureNature satisfies by its loveliness, and without any mixture of corporeal benefit.I see the spectacle of morning from the hilltop over against my house, from daybreak to sunrise, with emotions which an angel might share. The long slender bars of cloud float like fishes in the sea of crimson light. From the earth,as a shore, I look out into that silent sea.I seem to partake its rapid transmations;the active enchantment reaches my dust, and I dilate and conspire with the morning wind. How does Nature deify us with a few and cheap elements! Give me health and a day, and I will make the pomp of emperors ridiculous.Te dawn is my Assyria;the sunset and moonrise my paphos, and unimaginable realms of faerie;broad noon shall be my England of the senses and the understanding;the night shall be my Germany of mystic philosophy and dreams. 8

Reduction of Your TensionAlternate tasks blocking out an entire day or week a high-priority project increases your anxiety without boosting your productivity -in fact, you may lose perspective and focus. You need to create a rhythm to your work to recharge.Every 60 to 90 minutes, take a break from your primary activity to do something different minutes. Are you alone? Are you only one person? 或是 Do you come here by yourself? Are you alone?. No, I lost my buddies! I can't find my friend, I lost my spoon in the bowl.3. Are you guys OK? Do you guys want to go with us? How are you'll doing. (这个 you'll 不是未来式, 而是 you all) 但是其实我觉得 you guys 还是比较普遍.. I heard the nature's call. I heard the nature's call. I heard the narture's call, 他们大多就只说, nature's calling! 5. Can you be more specific? I heard the nature's call, Can you be more specific? Can you be a little bit more specific? Can you tell me more details?6. Everybody picks up whatever you want. Everybody picks up whatever you want. 7. I bought a cake about this big! I bought a cake about this big! I bought a cake like this big. I have a brother about this tall. 8. He dances like an animal他跳舞跳很疯狂. Come out with us, you party animal! You dances like an animal! 9. Do you have a good time today? Do you have a good time today? Yes, I really have a great time today. I'll walk you out. I'll walk you out. I want to walk my dog. 所以 I walk you out 听来不是有点我溜你出去的意思呢?

例句:"you'd better study, there's a test tomorrow." "SO?" (1)Making a contract with their company is a big deal. You need to work hard to get the job done.(2)"John, getting a contract with their company is important, have you worked on it?" "Big Deal." (1)My boss just gave me a fat raise.(2)"I just bought a lottery ticket!" A FAT LOT OF GOOD THAT DOES ME这里的 "FAT"是反话,等于“一点都不”"LOT"是原来英文的意思,等于“很多”加起来等于“一点都没”"DOES ME" 等于"DOES ME" 的意思,就是“给我,,,帮我,,,,”全句加在一起:【一点都没】+【好】+【帮我】,我翻成“有个屁用”有点粗俗,但也比较传神?

He always whispers sweet nothings into his girlfriend's ear. What are those people twittering about? Shoot your mouth off She tends to shoot her mouth off.

Stopping by Woods Whose woods these are I think I know, His house is in the village though. He will not see me stopping here, To watch his woods fill up with snow. My little horse must think it queer, To stop without a farmhouse near, Between the woods and frozen lake, The darkest evening of the year. He gives his harness bells a shake, To ask if there is some mistake. The only other sound's the sweep, Of easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep, And miles to go bee I sleep. And miles to go bee I sleep 81。

There was a young flower in a desert where was always dried and sad-looking. It was growing by itself, enjoying everyday and saying to the Sun “When shall I be grown up?” And the Sun would say “Be patient. Each time I touch you, you grow a little.” And she was so pleased because she would have a chance to bring beauty to this corner of sand, and this is all she wanted to do-bring a little bit of beauty to this world. One day, the hunter came by and stepped on her. She was going to die and she felt so sad, not because she was dying, but because she had no chance to bring a little bit of beauty to this corner of the desert. The Great Spirit saw her and was listening “Indeed” he said “She should be living.” And he reached down and touched her and gave her life. And she grew up to be a beautiful flower; and this corner of the desert became so beautiful because of her. 70

Monkey see, Monkey do.J: Go cold turkey小胖Johnny是公司里[名嘴],哪里有吃有喝必见其踪. I' m getting too fat, so I must go cold turkey on greasy food."喔!原来冷火鸡亦有减肥之效,想想冰箱还剩下大半只火鸡,即问 "If you don't mind you can have the rest of the turkey in the freezer",Johnny会意一笑答"I sure have had enough turkey these days. No thanks"随即委婉相告他已痛下决心减肥戒吃了,而"go cold turkey"即[速戒]之意. cold `turkey (sl 俚 esp US)(a) way of treating a drug addict by suddenly stopping all his doses of the drug instead of gradually reducing them 使有毒瘾者突然停用毒品而不是逐渐减少剂量的处理方法.(b) frank statement of the truth, often about sth unpleasant 直言不讳; 照实说: talk cold turkey towith sb 对[与]某人直言不讳.J5: Sleeping on both ears小李刚来美国时当过褓母. She is sleeping on both ears." You are such an Indian giver!"
